MUSIC THEORY CRASH COURSES

One-Week Courses with Varying Degrees of Difficulty 

(Ages 8 to adult)


Spend part of your summer walking through the basics of music theory! Theory 1 will focus on clefs, notes, rhythms, and more with no experience necessary. Theory 2 will progress and will focus on scales, chords and the circle of fifths. Theory 3 will diver deeper into scales and chord progressions, transposition, minor key signatures and basic composition.

ELECTRIC BASS CRASH COURSE
One-Week Courses with Varying Degrees of Difficulty 
(Ages 8 to adult)

Learn and demonstrate proper mechanics of holding and playing the bass guitar, basic music theory as an application to enhance the development of performance skills, scales and chords as they apply to guitar performance, basic rhythm reading and beat structure and more!

One-hour a day for four consecutive days

SONGWRITING CRASH COURSE
One-Week Courses with Varying Degrees of Difficulty 
(Ages 12 to adult)

For students who can already read music, you will have the chance to dive into the world of songwriting. Participants will study composers, their time periods, and a major piece they composed. They will identify different composition techniques and even start and finish a piece of their own original music by the end of the four-day class. *Computer access is recommended
